Restrictions on book grants force students to spend money as intended

Upon arriving on campus this year, many students with book grants received an unpleasant surprise: the money in their book grants could now only be used for puchases made in the Denison bookstore. For the past two years, book grant money has been put into students' Denison Dollars accounts, and students were able to use their book grant money anywhere on campus for whatever they wanted.

The long time dream of Denison students to be able to use their Denison Dollars at Whit's finally came true this year. But how did this idea come into being, and how does it benefit Denison, which is providing this convenience for students and the Granville retailer? "Last year, some tentative questions came up regarding a program that would allow Denison students to use their school accounts at the shop," Whit's manager Miah Williams, said.
