The Kenyon Lords men’s tennis defeated all but one of Denison’s matches. The Lords overwhelmed the Big Red with an 8-1 victory in Granville.

Owen Smith ’17 recorded Denison’s lone victory for Big Red tennis against rival Kenyon on April 5. Smith was named NCAC Player of the Week, the week before the match against Kenyon took place. Smith’s opponent was forced to retire with an injury during the opening set where Smith held a 5-2 point advantage.

Despite the loss, Jamie McDonald ‘18 looks forward to confrence matches this weekend against Wabash and DePauw in Indiana.

“They should both be great matches, and I’m looking forward to see how we stack up against two confrence teams that we have yet to play.

“Both matches will give us a good refrence point going to the confrence tournament, which is ultimatley where it matters most,” McDonald said.

The loss moves Denison to 8-5 for the year while the Lords move to 4-9. The Big Red return to action for their final regular season home match Wednesday April 13th at 4:30pm.
