Kenyon sees athletic center thefts 

The Kenyon Collegian Kenyon security has identified a non-student as the main suspect in a series of thefts at the Kenyon Athletic Center on Oct. 23.

Columbus policeman commits suicide The Columbus Dispatch Kevin D. Myers, 46, a 22-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department who worked in the Crime Scene Search Unit, was found dead in a bathroom in the police’s property-room building on Sunday. He had shot himself with a personal firearm.

Iranian musician kills three in N.Y.

The New York Times An unidentified Iranian rock musician fatally shot three in Brooklyn, N.Y. early Monday, then shot himself. According to police, two of the victims were brothers and members of the Yellow Dogs, a Tehran-based group.

 

INTERNATIONAL

Typhoon devestates Philippines 

Los Angeles Times Filipino President Benigno Aquino III declared a “state of national calamity” Monday as Typhoon Haiyan continued to tear across the Philippines. The immense storm made landfall Nov. 7 and has killed over a thousand people. Some settlements, such as Tacloban, a city of 220K people, have been completely destroyed.

Intnl. Court rules against Thailand 

Bangkok Post The International Court of Justice, the primary judicial branch of the United Nations, ruled that the Preah Vihear Temple grounds belong to Cambodia on Monday afternoon. Preah Vihear is situated on a cliff that juts out into Cambodian territory, making access possible only from the Thai side of the border.
