There was a red carpet, live music and cake among other eventful features at the Mitchell Center Friday night. Students, alumni, honored guests, and the Board of Trustees as well as faculty and staff came together to continue the celebration of the inauguration of  Adam S. Weinberg as Denison University’s 20th President.

“Words cannot express how proud I was seeing all my peers at the ceremony and then celebrating afterwards,” said student body president senior Ana Victoria Morales. “It was just a great time. Everyone was looking fabulous… I feel like I had not seen this type of energy from the student body in my time here at Denison,” said Morales.

The ball featured the live performance of Lt. Dan’s New Legs. Other performances came from the student a cappella groups, the Denison Swing Ensemble, DUwop, The Hilltoppers, Ladies’ Night Out and Tehillah. Student leaders such as senior Danny Persia, president of the Denison Community Association (DCA), got a chance to lead a toast of sparkling grape juice in honor of president Weinberg.

“I loved the band… It was really fun to see faculty and staff dancing with us. I got to dance with Dr. Katz and his wife,” first year psychology major Vanessa Gibson added. “ I enjoyed watching president Weinberg speak because you could just really see how much he loves everyone here. I also enjoyed taking pictures on the red carpet…  I overall had a great time.”
